Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some frequently asked questions to help you decide if Dream Engine is the right video production company for you.

How long will it take to make my video?

For a typical production, you should allocate 4 weeks to your video project. This includes the first week for pre-production planning: concept development, script writing, scheduling and shot list. Week 2 for filming. And 2 weeks for editing, feedback, changes, and final touches. Animation usually takes longer, depending on the complexity. Each project is unique and, once we’re working together we’ll set a specific timeline.

How involved will I need to be in the process?

We’ll take charge of the project, and guide you through our process. We’ll encourage you to share information, contribute ideas and provide feedback throughout. This makes sure that your project stays on track, and you receive the video that best meets your needs.

Our staff are nervous about appearing in the
video. How can we prepare them?

Our Melbourne video production company has over 18 years of experience in preparing and coaching non-professional actors and presenters. We know how to help people feel at ease and look their best on video.

Will I be able to see how the video is coming
together before it’s completed?

Yes. As the video comes together in the edit, we’ll keep you updated: You’ll receive links to view the video at 3 milestones. This helps ensure that we’re on the same page. It also gives you the opportunity to give feedback and suggest changes along the way.

Who owns the video once it’s completed?

Once your video is delivered and paid for, you own the copyright. You’ve commissioned the work, and it’s yours to use as you wish. You might be surprised to learn that many video production companies insist on retaining copyright of their clients’ work.

Is this a fixed-price quote?

Yes. At Dream Engine, we only charge fixed prices. So you always know upfront what your investment is. It’s our responsibility to ensure that the work is completed in the time we’ve allocated. Unless you ask for additional work beyond our agreement, there’ll be no changes to your budget.

Do you offer a guarantee?

Yes. We’re satisfied only once you’re completely happy. When it comes to the post-production stage, we’re happy to continue editing your video until you are 100% satisfied with it.
