Mental Health Australia brought members and sector leaders together at Rydges Melbourne for its Members Policy Forum on 12 November 2025. The one-day program included formal addresses, government and policy updates, panel discussions, presentations, workshops and opportunities for members to connect.

Capturing the Members Policy Forum
The forum moved between formal presentations and more collaborative parts of the program. Government and sector speakers addressed the room, panels explored shared priorities, and participants contributed through table discussions and workshops.
The coverage needed to document the key presentations while also showing what it felt like to take part. Alongside the formal program, our crew captured audience responses, branded event details, networking and people working together around the room.
Because these moments unfolded live, the video and photography coverage was planned around the event schedule. This allowed the crew to anticipate important transitions and work unobtrusively around speakers, participants and venue staff. Creating Highlights and Full Presentation Videos
The video brief required two distinct types of content. The short-form film needed to communicate the character of the event in under two minutes, while the full-length recordings preserved nominated presentations in their complete form.
For the highlights edit, we combined wide views of the venue with speakers, panel discussions, audience cutaways, workshop details and candid interactions. The finished 1 minute 57 second film gives viewers a concise overview of the forum while retaining Mental Health Australia’s branding and the professional, collaborative tone of the day.
The presentation recordings served a different purpose. By recording the nominated sessions in full, Mental Health Australia also received complete video records of important contributions from the program.
Event Photography with a Natural Feel
The photography brief called for natural colour, a professional but unstaged feel, and images suitable for both web and print. Coverage focused on speakers, participants, networking and working groups, documenting the formal moments as well as the collaborative parts of the forum.
Having video and photography managed together kept the visual coverage coordinated across the day. The two formats could capture the same event from different perspectives without requiring the organisers to brief and manage separate suppliers. Planning Coverage Around a Live Event Program
The one-day run sheet included addresses, panels, presentations, question-and-answer sessions and facilitated workshops. Each part called for a different approach, from stable coverage of a speaker at the lectern to responsive filming and photography during group activity.
Working from the schedule allowed the crew to plan where video and photography needed to be positioned and when the focus would shift. That preparation helped capture the essential program content while preserving the natural flow of the event.
The Finished Content Package
The final package brought together three complementary forms of coverage: a concise highlights film, full-length records of key presentations and a still-image library from the day.
Each format serves a different purpose. The highlights film provides a quick overview of the forum, the presentation recordings preserve important sessions in full, and the photography provides flexible visual material for future communications.
