Introducing the people and businesses of Meydan
Meydan Group is an Australian family business founded in 1982. They asked us to create a video introducing the group and the people behind it. At the time of the production, their interests included textiles, software and property management. The film needed to explain how these different businesses fitted together.
The brief
Introducing the whole group
The brief was to introduce several divisions in one film. Alongside what each business did, Meydan wanted to explain the group’s history, values and family ownership. Interviews with its leaders gave us a way to cover those subjects in their own words.
The approach
Interviews across the business
We built the corporate branding video around interviews with senior leaders from several divisions. We asked them the same core questions, then edited their answers around shared topics.
Alongside the interviews, we captured footage of the team at work and of the locations and properties under Meydan management. This gave us footage to show the businesses and properties the interviewees were describing.
On location
Filming the workplaces and properties
The project took place over several shoot days. We filmed interviews in the boardroom and offices at their then headquarters in Collins Street, using natural light where possible. For property and location footage, we used moving shots to show the scale and setting of each property.
Post-production
Editing the film
We grouped the interview answers by topic, covering the group’s history, its businesses and the values discussed by its leaders. The edit brought those answers together with office footage, property shots and motion graphics. Colour grading helped create a consistent look across the different locations and cameras we used throughout the project.
The result
The finished video
The finished film introduced Meydan through its people, workplaces and properties. It brought the different divisions into one overview of the group, with its leaders explaining the history and values of the business.
