Livestreaming a Sold-Out Awards Night
The AUSactive National Awards at Zinc at Fed Square sold out, but many members couldn’t travel to Melbourne.
AUSactive asked us to provide a Melbourne live streaming service for members who couldn’t attend. It also needed a full recording and extra footage to use after the awards night.
The challenge
Reaching Members Who Couldn’t Be in Melbourne
The sold-out room was only one audience. AUSactive also needed members around Australia to watch live.
We also needed to cover the red carpet, media wall and winner interviews so AUSactive had material for social media and future event promotion.
The action
Running a Three-Camera Livestream at Zinc
We used three cameras to livestream the ceremony, so the online audience could follow the stage and presentations as they happened.
We recorded the full program at the same time. AUSactive received the live broadcast and a complete event recording.

Filming the Red Carpet and Media Wall
While the ceremony was running, we also filmed red-carpet arrivals and guests at the media wall.
We recorded short interviews with award winners in an adjoining room. AUSactive could share those clips on social media and use them to promote future events.

Interviewing Winners Away From the Stage
The winner interviews recorded people’s reactions soon after they left the stage.
An adjoining room gave us a quieter place to record while the awards night continued nearby.

A Livestream and a Full Set of Event Content
AUSactive’s members could watch the sold-out ceremony without travelling to Melbourne.
After the event, AUSactive had the full ceremony recording, red-carpet and media-wall footage, and winner interviews. It could use all of it for future promotion.
