When the AUSactive National Awards at Zinc at Fed Square in Melbourne sold out, online access became essential.
As a national organisation, AUSactive has members across Australia, and many were unable to travel to Melbourne for the event. Dream Engine delivered a three-camera hybrid production that brought the awards ceremony to a national online audience and captured content AUSactive could continue using after the event.
Project Snapshot
- Client: AUSactive
- Event: AUSactive National Awards
- Venue: Zinc at Fed Square, Melbourne
- Project: Multi-camera hybrid event production
- Live coverage: Three cameras covering the awards ceremony for a national audience
- Deliverables: Livestream, full event recording, red-carpet and media-wall footage, and interviews with winners
- Ongoing use: Social media and promotion of future events
The Challenge
AUSactive needed its sold-out National Awards to be accessible beyond the room. Members who could not travel still needed a way to watch the ceremony live.
The event also created an opportunity to capture more than the ceremony itself. Red-carpet arrivals, the media wall and interviews with winners could give AUSactive useful material for social media and future event promotion.
Our Solution
Dream Engine provided three-camera live coverage of the awards ceremony and streamed the event to a national audience. The multi-camera production gave remote viewers live access to the ceremony while the awards continued in front of the sold-out audience at Zinc at Fed Square.
We also created a full event recording for post-event use. By planning the live streaming production and recording together, AUSactive gained both live national access and a complete record of the ceremony.
Behind-the-Scenes Content for Social Media
Alongside the ceremony, Dream Engine filmed red-carpet arrivals and media-wall content.
We also recorded interview clips with award winners in an adjoining room.
This additional event video content gave AUSactive footage to share on social media and use when promoting future events.
The Result
The result was an event that worked equally well for guests in the room and viewers watching remotely. The sold-out Melbourne ceremony reached a national audience, including AUSactive members who could not travel.
After the event, AUSactive also had a full recording of the ceremony, red-carpet and media-wall footage, and interviews with winners. One event created live national access, a complete event record and a collection of content for ongoing promotion.
