Fast-growing schools do not just need more space. They need confidence that permanent, high-quality learning spaces will be ready when students return.
Since 2023, Dream Engine has worked with Harwyn to make that story clear through customer case studies, shorter cutdowns, social clips and creative promotional films.
Over time, our role has grown beyond turning up with a camera crew. We have come to understand the questions Harwyn’s prospective clients ask, the pressures facing school leaders and the themes that make each project relevant: enrolment growth, fixed start-of-year deadlines, budget certainty, minimal disruption and the reliability of a factory-built process.
That understanding now shapes everything from the questions we ask in interviews to the details we capture on location and the way each production is adapted for different channels.

About Harwyn
Harwyn creates permanent, architect-designed modular buildings, with a strong focus on the education sector. Its work includes classrooms, music pods, specialist learning areas, administration spaces and multi-storey school buildings.
The buildings are manufactured offsite at Harwyn’s Melbourne facility and delivered ready for installation. This reduces time on an operating school campus and gives clients a clearer view of costs, timing and the finished result.
For a school facing growing enrolments, the appeal is practical: create the space students need, reduce disruption and have it ready for the new school year.
Because schools are the audience, our experience in education video production helps us connect that practical story to the people who will teach and learn in the completed space.
The Communication Challenge
Harwyn’s work is highly visual, but the real value is not captured by an exterior shot or a list of building specifications.
Good construction video production has to connect the building process with the outcome: confidence for the school, less disruption and a finished space ready when it is needed.
School decision-makers need to understand how the space will feel, how it will fit into an existing campus and whether the project can be delivered within a firm window. They want to hear from people who have already gone through the process and see students and staff using the finished building.
That makes customer case study videos particularly valuable. Rather than asking Harwyn to make every claim itself, the films allow school leaders to explain the problem they faced, why they chose Harwyn and what the completed project has made possible.
Knowing What Matters to School Decision-Makers
A long-term production relationship changes the quality of the work. Each project gives us a deeper understanding of Harwyn’s buildings, customers and sales process.
We now know the conversations that matter. Why did the school need more space? What deadline was driving the project? How did the factory-built approach reduce disruption? What gave the school confidence in the budget and program? How is the finished space being used?
This means Harwyn does not need to explain its business from the beginning every time. We can prepare more focused interviews, recognise the details worth filming and help each participant tell a clear, natural story.
Customer Stories Built Around Real School Pressures
The Yarra Valley Grammar story brings the central theme into sharp focus. As the school population grew, it needed additional specialist spaces and more Year 5 classrooms. It also needed a reliable partner that could meet the school’s specifications, budget and delivery timing.
The film follows a relationship that developed across several projects, including junior-school learning space, drama and music rooms, and new classrooms. The success of the first project gave the school confidence to return to Harwyn as its needs changed.
“The Dream Engine team perfectly captured the essence of our music pods. The production quality is incredible, and the whole crew was extremely professional. They listened to our ideas, incorporated them into the video, and delivered outstanding results. We couldn’t be happier with the final product.”
— Jared Cohen, Business Development Manager, Harwyn
The wider series applies the same approach to different projects and priorities. At St Paul’s Anglican Grammar School in Drouin, the story centred on confirmed enrolments, an immovable opening date and a 500-square-metre junior-school facility built in the factory over 12 weeks, with 14 days on site. Other films cover projects for Trinity Grammar School, Northside Christian College, Oxley College, Caulfield Grammar and other schools.
Together, these films give prospective clients more than one generic example. They show Harwyn responding to different sites, building types and educational needs while returning to the same underlying promise of speed, quality and certainty.
From Main Case Studies to Short-Form Content
The main customer film is only one part of the content plan. Interviews, project footage and detail shots can also become shorter edits that focus on one message at a time.
Across the Harwyn library, we have produced longer customer stories alongside 30-second social clips, website banners, short promotional edits, capability content and behind-the-scenes videos. A detailed case study can support a proposal or website page, while a shorter cutdown can introduce the same project to someone on social media.
Planning those formats together helps Harwyn get more useful content from each production while keeping the message and visual style consistent.
Creative Films That Show the Buildings in Use
Not every video needs to follow a traditional interview format. For Harwyn’s Music Pods, we developed a more creative film built around young musicians performing together.
The idea was to show what the product makes possible. Rather than presenting an empty room, the film gives the audience a sense of the energy, performance and focused practice that can happen inside it.
The production also generated shorter promotional versions and behind-the-scenes material. You can read more about the creative approach in our Harwyn Music Pods video project.
A Production Partnership That Improves Over Time
Harwyn now has an expanding library of customer proof and promotional content that can be used across its website, proposals, project bids and social channels.
The deeper value is continuity. The same understanding of Harwyn’s audience carries from one production to the next. The messages stay consistent, the briefing process becomes easier and each new film can build on what has already been learned.
In a film about our work together, the Harwyn team described Dream Engine as a production company that listens carefully and understands what the business is trying to communicate.
“They’re extremely good at understanding our vision and making that come to a visual reality.”
— Harwyn
That is what a long-term video partnership should do: make the production process easier while making the content more relevant to the people it needs to reach.
