Capturing the Complete Event Experience
Infosys APAC Confluence brought industry leaders, clients and partners together in Melbourne to discuss emerging technologies, business strategy and digital transformation.
Dream Engine filmed keynote presentations, audience engagement, networking and technology demonstrations throughout the day. The brief was to turn those moments into a polished highlights film while the event was still underway.
The challenge
Delivering a Polished Film Before the Event Ended
Same-day edits are one of the most demanding forms of event video production.
Filming, file management and editing all need to happen at the same time while the event continues around the production team.
The finished video also needed to feel like a considered summary of Confluence, not a hurried collection of shots. It had to capture the formal program and the informal moments that gave the day its energy.
The action
Planning the Edit Before Filming Began
The team pre-visualised and storyboarded the opening, closing and overall edit flow before the event.
Music and supporting material were also selected in advance, giving the editor a clear structure once filming began. Key moments were identified ahead of time so the crew could concentrate on the presentations, demonstrations and interactions that would carry the story of the day.

A Three-Person Same-Day Workflow
A camera operator, camera assistant and on-site editor worked in parallel. Every couple of hours, the assistant transferred a carefully selected batch of footage to the editor.

Deliver selected footage to the editor throughout the day.

The result
The Room Watched Its Own Day Come Together
There was a genuine buzz in the room when attendees saw a complete, polished wrap-up of the event they were still attending.
Speakers, conversations and moments from only a few hours earlier were now part of a finished film on the main screen. The screening gave the closing session an immediate lift and let everyone revisit the strongest moments together before leaving the venue.
The impact came from the timing. The audience was not looking back weeks later. They were watching the story of the day while its energy was still fresh.

A Video That Could Promote the Next Confluence
The screening was not the end of the video’s usefulness.
Infosys left the venue with a polished asset ready to share internally, publish across digital channels and use to promote the next Confluence. Future attendees, partners and speakers could see the scale, content and atmosphere of the event for themselves.
One day of filming created both an immediate event moment and useful content for what came next.
