Filming and Editing While the Event Was Running
Infosys APAC Confluence brought industry leaders, clients and partners together in Melbourne to discuss emerging technologies, business strategy and digital transformation.
We filmed the keynotes, audience reactions, networking and technology demonstrations. At the same time, our editor built a highlights film to screen before everyone left.
The challenge
Screening the Highlights Video at the Closing Session
The same-day edit video had to be ready to screen at the closing session, so filming and editing happened at the same time.
While the camera crew covered the event, an editor worked nearby, turning incoming footage into a finished video.
It needed to capture the main presentations, demonstrations and conversations, and feel polished despite the tight deadline.

Setting Up the Edit Before the Event
Before filming, we storyboarded the opening and closing and agreed on the order of the film.
We also chose the music and supporting material in advance. The editor could start with a working structure, and the crew knew which presentations, demonstrations and interactions the film needed.

A Three-Person Same-Day Workflow
A camera operator, camera assistant and on-site editor worked at the same time. Every couple of hours, the assistant transferred a selected batch of footage to the editor.

Film only the material the edit is likely to need.

Deliver selected footage to the editor throughout the day.

Refine and supply the completed film to the venue AV team.
The result
Screening the Finished Film at the Event
There was a real buzz when attendees saw the day’s highlights on the main screen before the event had ended.
They saw speakers, conversations and moments from only a few hours earlier cut into a finished film. It helped end the day on a high, giving attendees a chance to relive the highlights together.
They didn’t have to wait weeks to see it. The event was still fresh, and many of the people on screen were still in the room.
The result
Using the Film After Confluence
Infosys could keep using the film after the screening.
The film was ready to share internally, publish online and use to promote the next Confluence. It showed future attendees, partners and speakers the size of the event, the subjects covered and what the day felt like.
The same shoot covered the closing-session screening and gave Infosys a video it could use again.
