Background
Making Smart Access Feel Simple
Motorola Solutions wanted to show how Avigilon Alta works in a real residential setting without burying the audience in technical language.
Filmed at Thomas Street Apartments within Moonee Valley Park, the three-minute customer story follows the integration between Avigilon Alta cloud access control and the Erin Resident app.
The challenge
Turning a Technical Integration Into a Human Story
The film had to explain why the technology matters to residents, building managers, developers and integration partners.
Cloud access, digital credentials and open platforms are important, but the terms do not make the benefits memorable. The story needed to connect those ideas with everyday security and convenience.
The action
Giving Each Voice a Clear Role
The story brings together people responsible for selecting, integrating, managing and using the technology.
Motorola Solutions sets out the wider goal of creating safer environments. Erin Living Technologies explains how its resident app connects with Avigilon Alta. Hamton provides the development perspective, while a resident describes what the system changes in daily life.
The edit moves from Motorola Solutions’ wider safety mission to a specific example of the technology in use. That gives the film more credibility than a conventional product presentation. See more of our technology video production work.

Showing Smart Access in Everyday Use
Visitor access gives the story a simple, concrete example. A guest can call from downstairs, enter the building and receive lift access to the correct floor.
The resident does not need to explain APIs or digital credentials. They can show how the system makes receiving a visitor easier.
The same approach makes keyless entry clear. The phone becomes a secure, convenient alternative to keys or access cards, with the Erin app bringing the resident experience together.

The result
A Clear Story About a Sophisticated System
The finished film moves from Motorola Solutions’ wider safety mission to Avigilon Alta working in a real apartment building.
Stakeholder insight explains how the integration works. The resident’s experience shows what changes in practice. Together, they give Motorola Solutions a credible marketing asset without allowing technical detail to overwhelm the story.
Next Steps: Need to Explain Complex Technology?
A customer story can show how your product works through the experience of the people using it.
