When the Victorian Legal Services Board and Commissioner (VLSB+C) needed to deliver a live professional development webinar for supervisors and supervisees across the legal profession, they required more than someone to simply operate cameras. The event needed to be professionally produced, broadcast live without technical issues, and recorded at high quality for ongoing publication as an educational resource.
Having produced video and live streaming projects for government departments and statutory authorities for more than 20 years, Dream Engine understands the planning, professionalism and reliability these organisations expect. Our role was to manage every aspect of the webinar production so the VLSB+C team could focus on delivering valuable content to their audience with confidence.
Project Snapshot
- Client: Victorian Legal Services Board and Commissioner (VLSB+C)
- Industry: Government and legal services
- Location: Melbourne studio
- Event: Live CPD webinar for supervisors and supervisees
- Services: Webinar production, live streaming, multi-camera filming, live vision mixing and audience moderation
- Deliverables: Live webinar broadcast and high-quality on-demand recording
The Challenge
Although live webinars appear straightforward to viewers, successful productions rely on careful planning and coordination behind the scenes. This one-hour CPD webinar featured two presenters, presentation slides, moderated audience questions and a live online audience, all of which needed to be managed seamlessly throughout the broadcast.
Like many government organisations, the presenters were specialists in their field rather than experienced broadcasters. They needed to feel comfortable on camera while trusting that every technical aspect of the production was being managed professionally.
The webinar also needed to produce a polished recording that could continue serving as an educational resource long after the live event had concluded.
Our Approach
Working from a Melbourne studio, we delivered a professional multi-camera webinar production designed to provide broadcast-quality results while creating a relaxed and supportive environment for the presenters.
The production included:
- Multi-camera video production
- Professional audio capture
- Live vision mixing
- Presentation slide integration
- Audience Q&A moderation
- Continuous technical monitoring throughout the broadcast
- High-quality recording for future on-demand viewing
Before going live, we guided the presenters through the live stream production process, explaining how the session would run and answering any questions they had. We also completed audio, presentation and technical checks to ensure everything was ready before the webinar commenced.
During the broadcast, our production team managed the live vision switching between presenters, discussion and presentation slides while monitoring the stream in real time. This allowed the presenters to concentrate on delivering their message without needing to think about the production itself.
The Webinar
The one-hour session explored effective supervision within the legal profession, examining how kindness, communication and structured conversations contribute to stronger supervisory relationships. The webinar combined keynote presentations with practical examples before concluding with moderated audience questions.
Because the session was professionally recorded, the content continues to provide ongoing value as an educational resource for legal practitioners beyond the original live broadcast.
The Results
The Victorian Legal Services Board and Commissioner successfully delivered a polished live webinar that reflected the professionalism of the organisation while removing the technical burden from their internal team.
The presenters were able to focus entirely on delivering their presentation, knowing that camera operation, live switching, audience management and technical monitoring were all being handled by an experienced production team.
Following the event, the organisation received a broadcast-quality recording suitable for ongoing publication, allowing a single live presentation to continue educating legal practitioners well after the webinar had finished.
Why Professional Webinar Production is Important
Professional webinar production is about much more than streaming video online. It gives presenters confidence, creates a better viewing experience for audiences and ensures organisations are represented professionally throughout the event.
For government departments, statutory authorities and larger organisations, webinars often become valuable long-term assets. Investing in experienced production helps ensure both the live event and the recording reflect the quality and professionalism of the organisation.
