Production Overview
Dream Engine recently completed a TV commercial shoot at the East Melbourne Public Library. The project was commissioned by Public Libraries Victoria to highlight the role of local libraries across the state.
The goal of the commercial was to promote the value of public libraries, showcase the range of services available, and capture the sense of connection that libraries bring to their communities.
Filming took place at the East Melbourne Public Library and several locations around Melbourne. Our video production crew included a director of photography, camera assistant, director, continuity, and make-up.
Before filming, we created a detailed storyboard to map out each scene and refine the creative approach. This helped the client visualise the concept and ensured everyone was working from the same plan.
The commercial featured local library visitors and staff, which helped keep the story authentic and community-focused.
We were given access to the library during its half-day closure, so our schedule needed to be precise. A clear shot list and careful planning allowed us to make the most of the available time.
Once filming wrapped, the client viewed edits through our online work area, which made it easy to track progress and provide feedback.
