Broadband Solutions is a Melbourne-based telecommunications company that delivers tailored internet and phone services to businesses across Australia. They approached Dream Engine to produce a series of web videos that would help new clients understand their expertise and see the real impact of their work.
The Brief
The project centred on creating a set of authentic case study videos and a company-wide About Us video. The goal was to show potential customers what Broadband Solutions does, why their work matters, and how they support businesses with reliable connectivity.
Case study videos are one of the most effective forms of proof. They let real clients speak in their own words about the challenges they faced and the results achieved. Our aim was to capture that honesty and make the stories engaging and easy to watch.
Setting the Tone
Authenticity was the priority. If a case study feels scripted, viewers disconnect from it. So we filmed each interview on location in the customer’s own environment. No scripts, no rehearsed lines. Just clear questions and natural responses. The result is relatable storytelling that feels real because it is real.
Shooting on location also adds visual and ambient detail that enriches the story. Subtle background sounds, natural movement in the space, and the character of each workplace help place the viewer in the environment and make the message more memorable.
Capturing the Story
We began at the Broadband Solutions head office to get a strong understanding of the business and the team behind it. This helped inform the cutaway footage we needed and the themes we would focus on during interviews.
From there, we travelled across Melbourne and Sydney to film a series of customer testimonials. Each location provided unique stories that highlighted the benefits Broadband Solutions delivered. Throughout the shoot, we focused on efficiency, respect for client time, and adaptability to each space.
Creating a Professional Look
The visual style needed to feel polished without looking staged. Our videographer used a shallow depth of field to keep attention on the subjects while softening the backgrounds. Combined with a clean lighting setup, this created a warm and professional look that reflects well on the client.
Small LED accent lights were used to add dimension to each scene, bringing depth and interest to otherwise plain areas. These subtle touches help the audience feel the quality of the production without distracting from the message.
Finishing the Project
Once interviews and cutaways were complete, we shaped a set of videos that told clear and compelling stories. Music was carefully selected to support the tone without overpowering the message. Colour grading and sound design brought everything together into a consistent brand feel.
The final videos now feature prominently on the Broadband Solutions website as part of their marketing toolkit. They give potential customers a genuine picture of what the company does and how they support clients around Australia.

How long should a case study video be?
Most effective case studies run between one and three minutes. Long enough to tell the story but short enough to keep attention.
