Over the years, Dream Engine has received several awards and industry recognitions for our films, video production work and client service.
Awards are not the main way we measure whether a project has succeeded. The client’s result, the audience response and the experience of producing the work matter more. Even so, independent recognition is worth recording clearly.
Here are the details behind the award claims you may see elsewhere on our website.
2022 Viddy Platinum Award
In 2022, Dream Engine received a Platinum Award at the Viddy Awards for the Melbourne Holocaust Museum Fundraising Video.
The official Viddy winner database records Dream Engine as the entrant and the Melbourne Holocaust Museum as the client. The film was entered in the Non-Broadcast, Long Form Fundraiser category.
The Viddy Awards began in the mid-1990s as the Videographer Awards and later changed their name to reflect the evolving ways video is produced and distributed. The competition is administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals.
In its official 2022 results announcement, Viddy said Platinum recognition was awarded to work its judges considered exceptional in the way it was written, produced, filmed or edited.
The fundraising film was originally produced in 2019, when the museum was still known as the Jewish Holocaust Centre. It formed part of the Remember the Past. Build the Future campaign, which invited supporters to help create a larger museum and keep the voices of Holocaust survivors alive for future generations. The organisation adopted the Melbourne Holocaust Museum name in April 2022.

This was a particularly meaningful project for us. The museum was founded by Melbourne Holocaust survivors and exists to preserve their stories, educate future generations and challenge antisemitism, racism and prejudice. Helping communicate that purpose called for sensitivity, care and restraint.
Receiving the Platinum Award mattered because it recognised work created in support of a much larger purpose.

Clutch Australia recognition in 2022
In 2022, Clutch included Dream Engine in its annual list of leading Australian B2B service providers.
Dream Engine had a 5.0 rating and “Video Production, Marketing Strategy” listed as its popular services. We were the highest-placed business in that particular list with video production as its first listed service. Clutch recognised Dream Engine as one of Australia’s top video production companies in 2022.
Clutch noted that the list was a snapshot of its Leaders Matrices on 31 January 2022 and that rankings change over time. We therefore describe this as a specific 2022 recognition rather than a permanent national ranking.
Working to create a clear, well-organised and positive experience for clients is a central part of how we approach video production. That is always a work in progress, so the Clutch recognition felt encouraging rather than like a finish line.
It was welcome recognition not only of the videos we produce, but also of the experience clients have while working with us. You can read Dream Engine’s verified client reviews on Clutch.

2018 AIPP Australian Video Producer Award
In 2018, Dream Engine founder Ryan Spanger received a Silver Distinction Award at the AIPP Australian Video Producer Awards.
The recognition was for the 40th anniversary brand film Dream Engine produced for Horseland.
Horseland wanted the film to celebrate four decades in Australia’s equestrian community without becoming a conventional company history. We developed the story around the connection between different generations of riders and their shared love of horses.
Filmed in Victoria’s Yarra Valley, the production combined newly filmed scenes, aerial footage and material from Horseland’s archives. It featured Olympic gold medallist Stuart Tinney and his daughter Gemma, helping bring the film’s multi-generational idea to life.
The completed film formed part of Horseland’s national anniversary campaign and was shared through its email marketing. The Silver Distinction was welcome recognition for a project built around heritage, memory and a genuine connection with the brand’s community.

What these awards mean to us
Each recognition looked at a different part of our work.
The Viddy Award recognised the craft and care behind a meaningful fundraising film. The AIPP award recognised the storytelling and production of a national brand campaign. The Clutch recognition reflected client service and Dream Engine’s standing among Australian B2B providers.
Awards are not the goal of a project, but we are grateful when thoughtful work and a dependable production process are recognised.
