At Dream Engine, we worked with Sam Bashiry, an Australian entrepreneur and co-founder of Broadband Solutions, which was recognised as one of Australia’s fastest-growing technology companies at the time of filming.

Sam wanted to share his life story: from his childhood in Iran and his time in an Australian detention centre to becoming the co-founder of Broadband Solutions.
The Brief
Sam approached Dream Engine to produce a personal, authentic documentary that would inspire others and strengthen his connection with his audience.
The video needed to go beyond business. It was about values, resilience, gratitude, and determination. Our challenge was to create a film that connected Sam’s personal history with his business career.
Our Approach
We worked closely with Sam and the Broadband Solutions team to plan a shoot that reflected the key milestones in his story.
Filming took place across three meaningful locations:
- Broadband Solutions headquarters in South Melbourne, capturing the energy of the company today.
- Melbourne’s CBD, where Sam landed his first job and began building his career.
- Parkville, where we filmed sequences reflecting Sam’s early experiences in detention after arriving in Australia.
These locations provided a strong visual contrast, from the challenges of his past to the achievements of his present.
Through interviews, narration, and carefully composed cinematography, we told a story that highlighted Sam’s perseverance and Broadband Solutions’ growth as an extension of his story.
The Outcome
The finished video was released across Sam’s social channels and Broadband Solutions’ platforms, giving the company a polished way to share his story with customers, partners, and wider audiences.
The film introduced the person behind Broadband Solutions by connecting the company’s growth with Sam’s values, resilience, and determination.
It was also created for use in presentations, events, and media features, helping the same story work across several communication channels.
