You’ve decided to create a video for your upcoming event in Melbourne. We’ve been filming corporate events, conferences and presentations across Melbourne for more than 15 years. Here is the process we’ve refined to help you get the most from your event video.
Pre-production meeting
In the weeks leading up to your event, we meet with you to run through the key details. We clarify the purpose of the video, the outcomes you want and the most suitable filming approach. Whether you want live streaming, full-length presentations or a short highlights edit, this meeting sets the direction. We also look at opportunities to create additional content, such as short pieces for social media. Many clients also book our corporate photography so that one team handles both stills and video.
Visit the venue beforehand
Visiting the venue lets us assess lighting, audio and camera placement. It is also a chance to meet the venue or event manager. Establishing a good relationship early helps everything run smoothly on the day.
Coordinate with the AV team
Most events have an in-house AV crew managing microphones, slides and staging. We contact them before the event to discuss audio feeds, camera positions and timing. When everyone understands the plan, the day runs far more efficiently.
Low-light performance
Events often take place in dim rooms. We use equipment that handles low light well, so the video looks clean and properly exposed without intrusive lighting. We may add subtle lighting to lift the overall look when required.
Redundancy
With live events, there is no second take. We record two versions of the audio and two versions of the video to ensure there is always a backup. If an audio feed from the desk fails, we have another source ready.
Multiple camera angles
Filming with more than one camera creates a more engaging edit. It also gives better coverage for presentations, panel discussions and audience reactions.
Backup and safe storage
As soon as we return to the edit suite, your footage is backed up in multiple locations, including offsite storage. Your content remains safe and protected at every stage.
Fast turnaround
Event momentum fades quickly, so we begin editing immediately and usually deliver the video within a day or two. This helps you make the most of the attention and energy from the event.
Sharing the video
We help you plan where to host the video, how to distribute it and how to measure performance. When you are preparing your next event, get in touch and we will help you create a strong result from start to finish.
