Useful video starts with a clear purpose

A website video that generates enquiries. A training video that your team actually wants to watch. Or a corporate video that helps your organisation stand out.

This is the work Ryan has focused on for more than 20 years. His goal is simple: to create video content that delivers real value for the organisations he works with.

The origin of Dream Engine

Where film and business met

From a young age, Ryan dreamed of making films and had a strong interest in business.

He studied film at The University of Melbourne and went on to complete a Postgraduate Diploma at the Victorian College of the Arts.

Starting out in the video production industry as a freelancer, Ryan quickly discovered that many production companies were focused on making beautiful films. But the needs of the client were not always front of mind.

He believed there was an opportunity to serve businesses more effectively with video by combining strong creative work with a practical understanding of communication, marketing and business objectives. This was when Dream Engine was born.

How Ryan approaches a brief

What makes a video effective

As Dream Engine grew, Ryan learned that creating effective business videos requires more than strong production values. The most successful videos are built around a clear understanding of the audience, the message and the outcome the organisation is trying to achieve.

01

Audience

Who needs to watch, and what matters to them?

02

Message

What is the clearest idea they need to understand?

03

Outcome

What should they think, feel or do next?

Over the years, he has refined a practical approach to video production that helps clients communicate more effectively and achieve their objectives.
